HOP Celebrates Successful Close-Out of General Protection Project in Tigray

Heal Our People (HOP) has proudly concluded the General Protection Project in the Central Zones of Tigray—covering Abiy Adi, Adwa, and Axum Weredas. This impactful initiative was fully funded by the Ethiopian Humanitarian Fund (EHF) and the New Millennium Women Empowerment Organization (NMWEO).

A formal Project Close-Out Meeting was held to reflect on achievements and discuss sustainability in the absence of an implementing partner. HOP staff presented the project’s remarkable outputs, which included strengthened protection mechanisms, enhanced community resilience, and improved support for internally displaced persons (IDPs).

The meeting brought together IDP leaders, wereda social affairs heads, and civil society organizations active in the area. Following the presentation, stakeholders unanimously praised HOP’s outstanding performance and recognized the organization’s dedication to inclusive, rights-based interventions. In a powerful show of appreciation, the three weredas awarded HOP certificates of recognition for its exemplary work.

This milestone not only marks the successful completion of the project but also highlights HOP’s capacity to deliver sustainable, community-driven protection outcomes that inspire confidence among partners and local leaders.
