On June 5, 2025, senior officials from the Government of Canada and the Canadian Embassy in Ethiopia visited HOP HQ in Mekelle. Executive Director Daniel Admasu welcomed the delegation and highlighted urgent humanitarian challenges in Tigray, including food insecurity, displacement, and healthcare access.
HOP shared its impactful work funded by Canada Fund for Local Initiatives (CFLI)—from peace-building to empowering women through vocational training. The discussion emphasized the importance of funding locally led organizations for sustainable recovery.
A call was made for Canada’s continued support in humanitarian access, peace-building, and strengthening grassroots resilience
