HOP Launches General Protection Project in Central Tigray with Staff Orientation and Awareness Workshop

Mekelle, Tigray – July 14, 2025

Heal Our People (HOP) has officially initiated the implementation of its General Protection Project in the Central Zone of Tigray, funded by the Ethiopian Humanitarian Fund (EHF). In a milestone moment, HOP has successfully recruited its dedicated project staff, marking a significant step forward in bringing protection services to communities affected by conflict and displacement.

Yesterday, the organization hosted a kick-off meeting with the newly appointed team to align on the project’s general objectives, key activities, and anticipated outcomes. The gathering served as a platform to foster collective understanding and commitment toward delivering protection services that uphold human dignity and promote community resilience.

Concurrently, an awareness creation workshop was conducted focusing on Preventing Sexual Exploitation and Abuse (PSEA), the organizational Code of Conduct, and other relevant policies. This session reaffirmed HOP’s commitment to maintaining ethical standards and safeguarding beneficiaries and staff alike.

With this strong start, HOP aims to ensure protection services are not only effectively delivered but are grounded in principles of accountability, transparency, and respect.
