Addis Ababa, Ethiopia – On September 24, 2024, Mr. Daniel Admasu, Executive Director of HOP, attended the “Global Affairs Canada International Assistance Partners’ Meeting” held in Addis Ababa. The event brought together key stakeholders to discuss Canada’s ongoing and future commitments to international assistance.
The meeting was officially opened with a keynote address by Ambassador Joshua Tabah, who outlined the overall objectives and agenda. Ambassador Tabah emphasized the importance of collaborative efforts in addressing global challenges and highlighted Canada’s dedication to sustainable development and humanitarian aid.
During the session, participants were presented with Canada’s International Assistance priorities and the country’s 10-year strategic sector plan. This comprehensive plan aims to address critical issues such as poverty reduction, gender equality, and climate change resilience. The presentation underscored Canada’s commitment to supporting vulnerable communities and fostering long-term development.
The interactive segment of the meeting saw participants raising various questions and comments. Mrs. Ashley Mulroney, Head of Development, addressed these concerns, providing detailed responses and clarifications. She reiterated Canada’s commitment to working closely with its partners to ensure effective implementation of the strategic plan.
